LOST ARTISANS
"Lost Artisans" is a research-based visual project that honors African artists erased by colonial histories — particularly the Bangubangu wood carvers and women weavers of Eastern Congo. Through paintings and essays, the series seeks to restore visibility and reverence to these forgotten creators, reframing them not as anonymous “craftspeople,” but as visionary artists whose innovations shaped visual culture.
The exhibition reimagines these lost figures through layered imagery, textures, and text — blending ancestral memory with contemporary expression. Each work becomes both an altar and a mirror: a site of mourning and of reawakening.
